- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, beaten egg, and active sourdough starter. Gradually mix in unbleached flour, sugar, and salt until a cohesive dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for about 9 hours.
- Once risen, punch down the dough, transfer to a floured surface, and shape into smooth rolls.
- Place rolls on a greased baking tray and refrigerate covered for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and brush the tops with garlic herb butter. Bake for about 25 minutes.
