  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Swap with coconut oil for dairy-free option
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Light or dark brown sugar can be used interchangeably
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Use sea salt for a gourmet touch
For the Maple Pecan Filling
  • 3 large Eggs Check for egg-free alternatives if needed
  • 1 cup Pure Maple Syrup Avoid pancake syrup for authenticity
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans Alternatives include walnuts or almonds
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla for best results
For the Finishing Touch
  • 1 teaspoon Flaky Sea Salt For topping

Equipment

  • Oven
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend together all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and salt. Mix in softened unsalted butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15–18 minutes until light golden brown.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, pure maple syrup, brown sugar, flour, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in chopped pecans gently.
  4. Once the crust is done baking, pour the maple pecan mixture over it and spread evenly. Bake for an additional 30–35 minutes until set and golden.
  5. Let the bars cool completely in the pan for about an hour. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top, lift out of the pan using the parchment, and slice into squares.
