For Topping

For Seasoning

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove seeds and membranes. Set aside in the baking dish.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the ground meat to the skillet with the sautéed aromatics, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the browned meat with cooked rice, diced tomatoes, and seasonings.
  6. Stuff each bell pepper with the filling, pressing down slightly to pack it in.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, add cheese if desired, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
