Method
 

Steps for Baking
  1. Whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Cream 1 cup of softened unsalted butter and 3/4 cup of granulated sugar in a stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  3. Incorporate 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 large egg into the mixture, beating until combined.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture into the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
  5. Check and adjust consistency with 2-3 teaspoons of milk if the dough is too stiff.
  6. Pipe the dough into shapes on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Chill piped cookies in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes.
  9. Cool on wire racks before decorating with chocolate and sprinkles as desired.
