  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Grated for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Reduced-Sodium Soy Sauce Tamari can be used for a gluten-free option.

  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Water or Beef Broth Broth adds more flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
Veggies
  • 4 cups Broccoli Florets Steam separately for better texture.

Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Set your Instant Pot to SAUTE mode and add neutral oil. Once shimmering, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add flank steak strips, cooking for 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides.
  3. Pour in water or beef broth to deglaze, scraping browned bits from the pot.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar or honey, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  5. Turn off SAUTE mode, secure the lid, and set the vent to SEALING. Pressure cook on high for 8 minutes.
  6. Carefully perform a quick release after cooking, then remove the lid.
  7. Re-enable SAUTE mode, mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry, and stir into the pot until sauce thickens.
  8. Fold in steamed broccoli florets and heat through for 2 minutes.
  9. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds or extra ginger, if desired.
