Cooking Steps
- Set your Instant Pot to SAUTE mode and add neutral oil. Once shimmering, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add flank steak strips, cooking for 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides.
- Pour in water or beef broth to deglaze, scraping browned bits from the pot.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar or honey, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- Turn off SAUTE mode, secure the lid, and set the vent to SEALING. Pressure cook on high for 8 minutes.
- Carefully perform a quick release after cooking, then remove the lid.
- Re-enable SAUTE mode, mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry, and stir into the pot until sauce thickens.
- Fold in steamed broccoli florets and heat through for 2 minutes.
- Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds or extra ginger, if desired.
