Method
 

Prepare the Donuts
  1. Whisk together the lukewarm milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth and well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, sugar, and instant yeast.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Roll out the risen dough to about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Cut out donuts and let them sit for 15 to 20 minutes to puff.
  7. Heat vegetable oil to 170-180°C (340-360°F) in a deep frying pan.
  8. Fry each donut for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Prepare the Filling
  1. Beat the heavy whipping cream with sugar until stiff peaks form.
  2. Carefully cut each donut horizontally, creating a pocket, and fill with whipped cream.
  3. Dust the tops with powdered sugar before serving.
