For the Creamy Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Using mascarpone will result in an even richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste based on your preference.
  • 8 oz Whipped Topping You can switch this with homemade whipped cream for a fresh alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Consider substituting with almond extract for a delightful twist.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Dark chocolate can be used for a more intense flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Colored Sprinkles Perfect for a festive touch.
Optional Flavor Enhancements
  • 1/2 teaspoon Peppermint Extract A fantastic addition for a refreshing twist.
  • 12 cookies Gingerbread Cookies Swap out the Oreos for a seasonal flavor.

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • 9x13 inch dish
  • Electric Mixer

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Start by crushing the Oreo cookies in a food processor until they become fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and combine with melted butter, mixing until fully coated. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Gently fold in the whipped topping until light and fluffy.
  3. Spread half of the creamy cheese mixture evenly over the prepared cookie crust. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over this layer.
  4. Add another layer by spreading the remaining crushed Oreo cookies over the chocolate chip layer, followed by the rest of the cream cheese mixture on top. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or ideally overnight.
