Step-by-Step Instructions for Crispy Fried Goat Cheese Balls
- Begin by slicing the goat cheese log into equal-sized medallions, about 1-inch thick. Roll each piece into smooth balls and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
- Set up a dredging station with bowls of flour mixture, egg & milk mixture, and panko breadcrumbs with thyme.
- Coat each ball in seasoned flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs until fully covered.
- Return coated balls to the freezer for another 30 minutes to set the coating.
- Heat oil over medium heat to 350°F (175°C) in a heavy-bottomed pot.
- Fry the cheese balls in small batches for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden brown, turning occasionally.
- Drain fried balls on a wire rack or paper towels, serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes
Double dredging can add an even crunchier coating. Ensure cheese balls are well-frozen before frying to prevent melting.
