Ingredients
  

For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Use all-butter varieties for the best flakiness and flavor.
For the Filling
  • 8 oz Brie Cheese Select a ripe, firm Brie that melts perfectly.
  • 1/2 cup Cranberry Sauce Whole-berry sauce is preferred.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Thyme Substitute dried thyme using only a third of the amount.
For the Finish
  • 1 each Egg Wash (optional) Combine with a teaspoon of water or milk.
  • 1 tbsp Flaky Sea Salt (optional) Opt for Maldon sea salt for added crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Remove the frozen all-butter puff pastry from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to thaw.
  2. Prepare your workspace by clearing a clean surface.
Filling Application
  1. Roll the thawed puff pastry into a large rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick.
  2. Spread cranberry sauce over one half of the pastry, leaving a margin along the edge.
  3. Layer slices of Brie cheese and fresh thyme leaves atop the cranberry sauce.
Twisting
  1. Fold the unfilled half of the pastry over the filled half, sealing the edges.
  2. Slice the folded pastry into strips, approximately 1-inch wide.
  3. Twist each strip into a spiral shape and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chill
  1. Place the twisted pastries in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Egg Wash
  1. Prepare an egg wash by whisking an egg with a teaspoon of water or milk.
  2. Brush the egg wash over the top of each twist.
  3. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
Baking
  1. Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through for even browning.
Cooling
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  2. Serve warm.
