Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. If using canned green beans, drain them. For fresh beans, blanch in boiling water for 3-4 minutes and transfer to an ice water bath.
  3. Cook thick-cut bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Save 1 tablespoon of grease.
  4. In the skillet, add butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder to make the glaze. Stir until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Layer the green beans in the greased baking dish, pour the glaze over them, and crumble the bacon on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the glaze bubbles and thickens.
  7. Let cool slightly and serve warm with your favorite main dishes.
