Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat for about 1 minute. Once shimmering, add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of grated ginger, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant and golden.
  2. Pour in 4 cups of chicken or vegetable broth, stirring gently. Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for about 2 minutes.
  3. Carefully add 12 frozen potstickers to the broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they float and look tender.
  4. If using optional ingredients, add them in the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
  5. Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions, chili oil, or red pepper flakes if desired.
