  • 1 lb Chicken Breast boneless, skinless
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil can substitute with vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp Butter European-style recommended
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder or 1 clove fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder can use fresh onion
  • 1 tsp Paprika smoked paprika optional
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth low-sodium preferred
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice fresh is best
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
For the Garnish
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley chopped, basil or chives can substitute

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water, add linguine and cook until al dente (9–11 minutes). Reserve ΒΌ cup pasta water, drain, and toss with olive oil.
  2. Season and Sear Chicken: Mix spices and coat chicken. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet, sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until cooked.
  3. Make the Sauce: Add butter to the skillet, melt, then add garlic (if using). Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard, simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Return chicken and linguine, combine, adjusting sauce with reserved pasta water.
  5. Finish and Serve: Stir in chopped parsley, taste for seasoning, and serve immediately garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.
