Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Trim and cut the fresh green beans into bite-sized pieces. Blanch in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath.
  3. Combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk in a large bowl until smooth. Fold in the green beans, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the green bean mixture into the greased baking dish and sprinkle half of the French fried onions on top.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes until edges bubble. Remove from the oven and top with remaining French fried onions.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
