Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by rinsing the shrimp and salmon under cold water to remove any excess debris. Pat them dry with paper towels, then generously season both the shrimp and salmon with Cajun seasoning on all sides. Set the seasoned seafood aside while you prepare the other ingredients.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, adding a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, carefully place the shrimp in the skillet, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and slightly crispy on the edges. Remove them from the skillet and add the salmon, cooking for approximately 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and flaky on the inside. Transfer both to a plate when done.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add a tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Then, pour in heavy cream and scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any flavorful bits. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until it coats the back of a spoon. Stir in a bit of Cajun seasoning for extra flavor.
  4. While the sauce simmers, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add peeled and chopped potatoes, cooking for about 15-20 minutes until they are fork-tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot, mashing them with butter, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. Keep warm until ready to serve alongside your Cajun Shrimp and Salmon.
  5. In a separate skillet, melt one tablespoon of butter over medium heat and add fresh green beans. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, tossing occasionally, until they are vibrant green and tender-crisp. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
  6. To plate your dish, scoop a generous serving of mashed potatoes onto each plate, placing the sautéed green beans alongside. Top the potatoes with the crispy shrimp and flaky salmon, drizzling the luscious garlic cream sauce over the seafood generously. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired and enjoy the delightful flavors.
