- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather your materials, including foil, a baking sheet, and your ingredients.
- Cut large sheets of heavy-duty foil, about 12–14 inches in length, and lay them shiny side up on the baking sheet.
- Center the salmon fillets on the foil sheets and surround them with trimmed asparagus.
- Mix olive oil or melted butter with minced garlic in a bowl and drizzle over the salmon and asparagus.
- Season with salt, pepper, and lemon zest. Optionally, add lemon slices and fresh herbs.
- Fold the sides of the foil over the ingredients to create airtight packets.
- Transfer the baking sheet with the packets to the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Open the packets carefully, and serve the salmon and asparagus. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
